that’s the thing about being just “another musicology blog” — it’s hard to stand out, here in the interwebs. but i promise grade A hilarity, a little insight and possibly some dropped knowledge. plus, who doesn’t love historical musicology with a side of deviant humor?

so check out my posts on my life as a graduate student, writing my dissertation, surviving academia, and thoughts on all sorts of musical topics splashed with some photography, music and internet bitty bits.

about me: struggling musicologist, specializing in Benjamin Britten, English/American Music 1890-1945, contemporary opera, gay/lesbian and queer studies, reception history, critical theory, and aesthetics/philosophy of music.

blah blah blah.

Any tips for a 5th year senior applying to the MA/PhD musicology program at Columbia?
